Watch this 84 minutes documentary where several environmental activists like Vandana Shiva, Maude Barlow, Medha Patkar and Rajendra Singh explain why we are facing the biggest crisis of our times, and how large corporations and global institutions such as the World Bank are behind this.

How Did A Handful Of Corporations Steal Our Water? Water is the very essence of life, sustaining every being on the planet. ‘FLOW’ confronts the disturbing reality that our crucial resource is dwindling and greed just may be the cause.

Irena Salina’s award-winning documentary investigation into what experts label the most important political and environmental issue of the 21st Century — The World Water Crisis. Salina builds a case against the growing privatization of the world’s dwindling fresh water supply with an unflinching focus on politics, pollution, human rights, and the emergence of a domineering world water cartel.
Interviews with scientists and activists intelligently reveal the rapidly building crisis, at both the global and human scale, and the film introduces many of the governmental and corporate culprits behind the water grab, while begging the question “CAN ANYONE REALLY OWN WATER?”

Beyond identifying the problem, FLOW also gives viewers a look at the people and institutions providing practical solutions to the water crisis and those developing new technologies, which are fast becoming blueprints for a successful global and economic turnaround.

The U.S. government has spent hundreds of millions of dollars over the past 40 years trying to uncover a biological explanation for why the Pima Indians of southern Arizona have one of the highest rates of diabetes in the world. But as Dr. Donald Warne tells us, diabetes was extremely rare here 100 years ago. What’s changed? Not biology but environment.

This video is a Web-exclusive supplement to “Bad Sugar,” Episode 4 of “UNNATURAL CAUSES: Is Inequality Making Us Sick?” This ground-breaking documentary series looks at how the social, economic and physical environments in which we are born, live, and work profoundly affect our longevity and health.

The series broadcast nationally on PBS in spring 2008, and can be bought on DVD from California Newsreel, www.newsreel.org

Dehydration Can Cause Obesity, Headaches, Mood Swings, Lethargy and More

By Paul Fitzgerald
Published July 12, 2008

Alkalized water can Flush Toxins and Neutralize Acidity in your body. It has gone through a Special Electrolysis process that changes pH of the water to ALKALINE. It is returned to the state in which water was often found in nature before the earth became polluted http://www.WaterHealstheWorld.com

The human body is composed of about two-thirds water. Water is in our blood, muscle tissue, bone marrow, lower layers of our skin, in our fatty tissues, as well in our stomachs. Water is the body’s lubrication and helps in its movement and function. Without water we’d be nothing more than dried bones and skin, and wouldn’t even exist.

Dehydration is the result of not having enough water in the body so that it can perform as it was designed to perform. The initial symptoms of dehydration are fairly easy to identify. A person who is dehydrated can experience headaches and mood changes, be lethargic and tired, have trouble concentrating, and has a slower response to external stimulus.

Unfortunately, many people don’t recognize the onset of dehydration and fail to take the necessary steps to prevent it and its results. In fact, many people think that when they are thirsty, with dehydration possibly setting in, that a soft drink or alcoholic beverage will cure the problem. There is nothing further from the truth in this kind of thinking. The dehydrating body needs water, not just any fluid, but only pure water. Fluids with caffeine, alcohol, or sugar will only make dehydration worse because these substances tend to cause even more water to be eliminated from the body.

Not treating dehydration correctly or further ignoring it can lead to more complicated mental and physical symptoms. Physically speaking the lips will dry and begin to crack, the urine will become dark, and the skin will become dry and papery and lose its elasticity. At this point there is danger that the internal organs can be damaged and treatment is of essential importance and the consumption of water is the cure.

However, the person dehydrated must also be careful about how fast they drink the water. A dehydrated person should not gulp down water as this could put the body into a state of temporary shock thus preventing it from the acceptance of further hydration. Instead, the dehydrated person must only sip the water initially, allowing the mouth and the throat to become moist and then slowly allowing the water down into the stomach area. This sipping should continue until the effects of dehydration have diminished substantially. And even then, gulping down water to cure the thirst should always be avoided, as too much water in too short of a time can in itself be dangerous.

Like with any other health issue, prevention is always the best medicine. If you are working out, out and about on a hot day, have young children or elderly in a hot climate, or are starting to feel a little less energetic than normal, especially in warm weather, it is wise to take frequent sips of water. The average adult needs approximately one quart of water per day to prevent the onset of dehydration.

Alkalize water can Flush Toxins and Neutralize Acidity in your body. It has gone through a Special Electrolysis process that changes pH of the water to ALKALINE. For details, http://www.WaterHealstheWorld.com http://www.emfnews.org/qlinks.html

Diabetes is now one of the leading causes of death in America and according to the International Diabetes Institute; it is becoming a global epidemic. The institute predicts that by 2025, some 300 million people will suffer with diabetes. Further, the health professionals who make up the institute say by that time diabetes will be a major killer in the global community.

Findings from a recent conference show that many suffer from diabetes but do not know it. By the time they discover it, there is often skin damage as well as corrosion of tissues and organs. The effects of diabetes on the body can be reversible in many cases. Doctors will often recommend a dramatic change in diet and an increase in water intake in an effort to flush the body.

Research in Japan, Russia and other countries shows that alkaline water is a critical warrior in effectively battling diabetes. Alkaline water is hydrogen rich and therefore promotes healing. The diabetic patient will often suffer from dry skin, lack of energy and ulcers. Water restructured to increase alkaline presence serves as an anti-oxidant. When introduced as a regular part of a nutritional plan, patients remarkably respond to the treatment.

Electro-oxidized water features very unique characteristics. These characteristics:high positive oxidation, high concentration of dissolved chloride and oxygen among other things are known as alkaline water. Alkaline water has proven to be successful in the treatment of diabetes in many eastern nations. In Japan, physicals will require patients drink about 9 to 10 glasses of alkaline ionized water per day. The heavy oxygen ions in the water combat free radicals in the bodies. Once free radicals are eradicated or beat back, the human body begins to respond to the living alkaline water.

The alkaline water in essence decreases the size of molecules in the body while increasing hydration. The water (a seemingly water for life) also aids in blood circulation. Diabetes is caused by the pancreas inability to process insulin properly. Japanese medical journals say part of the breakdown in the pancreas in diabetes patients is the presence of free radicals. Alkaline water, say the journals, is a natural agent in reversing the effects of those free radicals.

Regular intake of alkaline water or alkaline ionized water, according to researchers, can reduce the need for insulin by some 50 percent. For many American patients, the concept of alkaline water in treatment for health concerns is still new and therefore not widely promoted. Yet, alkaline water as additional treatment or alternative treatment may be something you discuss in detail with your doctor.

Acne Treatment – Homemade

When most people think of homemade acne treatments, they think of things like cocoa butter, shea butter, aloe vera and so on. But these types of remedies are temporary. You see. It’s like taking a pain medication for a backache. The pain may dissipate but the reason for the pain is still there. Same for homemade acne treatments. You may clear up the problem temporarily, but the cause is likely to still be there.

That likely cause is usually your diet. Most people don’t think of diet when it comes to their skin problems. But it is the most likely reason for your acne problems. In fact, there are many acne programs that focus only on what you are putting into your body, OR, your DIET. But for now let us focus on your use of drinking water to help clear up your skin.

Water is oh so important when it comes to having clear skin. The only way your body can get water is if you intake it. Whether it be from drinking or from food. Your body relies on water to do all of its functions. Your body knows how much to use, store and then eventually get rid of. So if you don’t drink a lot of water, your body will store more and you will sweat and urinate less. But that can lead to problems because then your body is using the same old water over and over. Therefore that water can be considered to be dirty. Hence, if the water your body is using is dirty, your sweat pores will clog and produce acne. So drinking water is one of the most important things you can do in r fight against acne. You also need water if you have acne scars.

If you aren’t getting sufficient water (1 oz / per body weight a day) the process of rebuilding the scar tissue you have is much slower. So realize that diet plays a very significant role in how clear your skin is and how fast you get rid of your scars.

Aside from drinking the proper amount of water everyday, you need to make sure you aren’t sabotaging your skin by eating the wrong foods. For example, let’s talk about milk. Specifically cow’s milk. About 80% of humans are allergic to milk or dairy and don’t even know it. The traditional allergy symptoms like hives don’t show up. But acne will. Now milk does other things to the body that aren’t good for you as well. But for the purposes of this article, we won’t get into that. Just know that cutting cow’s milk out of your diet can go a long way toward clearing up your skin.

The good news is that the myth about chocolate causing acne is not likely to be true. In fact chocolate makes the brain raise its serotonin levels which in turn releases stress. And stress oftentimes leads to pimples. Just make sure it isn’t milk chocolate you are chowing down on.
